Latin for Lockdowners

So the day has come: It’s Friday – (it’s not 5 o’clock, and it’s not Crackerjack) – and my So you really want to learn Latin YouTube channel has just gone live. It’s a bit scary, but my YouTube super star daughter Emma (Creative producer for Pan Macmillan) has been helping me, and it doesn’t hurt as much as I thought it would.

I’m beginning with a brief run through of some essential grammar needed to make sense of the first chapter, before launching into Latin in next Friday’s video. Going back through this material, I really do find myself believing once again that Latin should be a compulsory part of the curriculum – but then when did you hear a Latin teacher NOT say that!

I’m also experimenting with various ways of making the course fully digitised, and if that works out, I’ll let you know. In the meantime, do sign up for some Latin and let me know what you think of it all.
